Since September 2021, the project "Save the girl save the world" exists in different villages of the Indian state of Odisha. It is a prevention and support programme for the protection of girls and young women in India. In many places in India, the opinion is still widespread that girls are a burden for the family. Girls are either deliberately aborted or killed after birth. As a result, the gender ratio in India falls into an imbalance. Despite various laws and government programmes, girls are still neglected and their human rights violated.

What we do

Through numerous events and projects, various problems are identified, including negative attitudes towards girls and women, neglect of girls, educational deficits, a male-dominated society and unsafe working conditions. These problems lead to gender inequality and endanger the lives and rights of girls and women.

The direct beneficiaries of the project are women's self-help groups, the female population in general, young women (especially those who have recently married or will soon marry), families with only girls, as well as youth and tribal groups with cultural and religious links.

The main objective of the project is to change the awareness and behaviour of the population. Various activities are carried out to achieve this goal, such as awareness raising, training, sensitisation of service providers and villagers, family counselling, workshops and events.
